Trip to the Scio Township Fire Station...
Carter insisted on wearing his fireman's jacket (that was about 3 sizes too big). He learned so much from the few words that the Fire Chief had to say! He kept repeating, "You shouldn't be scared of the fireman!" and "when there is a fire in your house you just GET OUT and go to your special place!" or "when you are on fire just "Stop, drop and Roll"! The kid is a sponge! Since his visit we have designed our very own family fire escape plan, tested our fire alarms, and designated a "special place" in the case of a fire! Thanks for the learning field trip!!!Next we went to the Washtenaw Dairy in Ann Arbor Michigan...
Here we got to watch how they made their very own donuts! See how they fry them and even help frost them! These donuts did NOT have egg in them, so Carter actually had his very first donut! He had a fun time and enjoyed all the sugar he could handle!
We also have spent a LOT of time at the library. Carter registered for the summer reading program. So for every 5 books he reads or is read he gets a raffle ticket. He enters each ticket into a raffle for different prizes like 4 tickets to Cedar Point amuzement park or a $100 gift cert to "Just Imagine" (the new children's book store in town). So far he and I (of course) have read over 50 books! I am pulling for the Cedar Point tickets.
We also are attending story time with the puppet Rosie as well as any activity they have at the Library. Like 2 weeks ago we went to see the Reptile man and met all of his alligators, snakes, and toads. This week we went to Music Together, where we learned about music and sang and danced. This week is just as busy...we will keep you posted on our happenings! Eli enjoys just going along for the ride! He is a real trooper!!!
