Chris got an offer....

Chris accepted a job offer on Wednesday.  We are very excited about the things to come!  Carter will miss being at home with his dad and "Daddy Day-Care", but we all will have to adjust.  We will keep you posted, but thanks to all that have kept us in your thoughts and prayers.  The economy has not been great here in Michigan, but the Lord has blessed our family in numerous ways!

We bought a car on Friday and are getting things lined up for our transition.  Fun times for the Edwards family!

We were especially happy today about Michigan State's won over Univesity of Michigan.  Go Spartan's...way to pull it out!

THIS KID CRACKS ME UP!

Carter is such a gabber.  He surprises me everyday at what he has to say.  Today we giggled pretty hard at this one...

Carter saw a mark on the wall and asked, "What's this from?" I responded "Did you do that?" when Carter said without hesitation and completely serious, "No...Baby did it...My sister did it!"

OK, we don't find out what we are having for about another week, but he is already blaming his sibbling before he/she is even here.  He is trouble.

I had a few other phrases that left us laughing...

-"Dad you're my HERO!" (Where he got that, I have no idea!)
-"Dad you're my best friend!"  as he leaned over the shopping cart and gave his dad a hug. (I think he got this from Franklin the turtle)
-"I wuv you too mom!"
-He leaned forward in his high chair and tooted in which he responded "You hear that dad?"
-"Come on...sing with me guys!" (He was signing in the back of the car as loud as can be)
-"crock-diles in my bed mom!"(he watched animal planet before bed...bad idea)

He is such a special boy with so much character and personality.  He keeps us smiling!

Getting SO BIG!

Carter seems to be growing up before our very own eyes. Maybe it was the haircut that his Dad gave him a few weeks ago. We took the buzzers to him...it looks so good. But either way, he is just getting so big. (Not weight wise...still only at 26.5lbs- - -he weighed 25lbs at his 2 yr check up in June---has his Dad's build and metabolism.) He is speaking in sentences, asking questions like "what's this for, Mom?", calling his own football plays in the family room during Saturday football games "GREEN 80...HUT-HUT,HIKE!", hitting baseballs when pitched to him, and saying please/thank you/and "I love you too Mom" without being prompted. We are so blessed to have this special little boy in our family. What did we ever do without him? Thanks Carter for being just a shining star in our home! We love you!

I love it when he calls me when I am at work and says, "Coming home soon, Mom?" He melts our hearts and I hope he continues to do so!

Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island

For our 4th Wedding Anniversary we spent 2 days at Mackinaw City/Mackinac Island in the upper peninsula of Michigan. This is on Lake Huron. It was beautiful and a fun experience for the whole family. The island does not allow cars and the only mode of transportation is horse and buggy or bikes. I tried to talk Chris into renting a tandem bike with a trailer to pull Carter. Since we could not remember the last time we rode bikes and being pregnant and all we decided maybe that wasn't the best idea. The way to get to the island is by Ferry. So we took a ferry from Mackinaw City where we stayed over to Mackinac island. The ride was beautiful and Carter especially loved the boat ride.

This is Mackinaw Bridge view from the island.

We enjoyed watching others play on the rocky beach walk on the boardwalk.

We enjoyed ice cream on the island...had to make sure to find ice cream without eggs...this boy did not want to miss out on his ice cream.
These are in front of the Grand Hotel. After 6pm you have to be in a suit and tie to enter the lobby. That is NOT where we stayed...little bit out of our budget.
There are horse and buggies all over the island as well, had to watch our step at times. Carter let us know every time he saw a horse. He is such an animal lover.
We stayed at a great hotel in Mackinaw City...great pool...great contenential breakfast (make your own waffles and everything)...and right on the lake. This was at the back of the hotel. It was cool and the water was freezing. Carter did not care one bit and walked RIGHT in...sweatshirt, jeans, and shoes! He loved the beach...even swore he saw a turtle in the lake...turned out to be a large rock. But he fed it sand and truly believed it was a BIG turtle. He made us laugh.

We had a great trip and loved the time away from home even if it was just 2 days. Next time we are going to rent or bring some bikes to the island.
