Family Photos

Just some the family photos we took last weekend. More to come. Last night I hosted a Lia Sophia party. It was fun to actually do something and be with friends for a change. I am so busy w/ being a mom, wife and Dietitian that I don't have too much spare time. It was a great night. If anyone is interested in checking out the jewelry, I am a big fan. Chris is finishing up his last 2 classes and will be done next week. Then all he has left is his internship where he will continue working with the MSU Football team in the fall. Chris has several Football Camps this weekend. One today, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. We won't be seeing him too much over the next few days. We are excited for him to finish his masters and find a job. It will be here soon.

Not much else going on...we lost our babysitter for the summer. Carter will miss Megan and her kids, he's stuck w/ family all summer. Megan went to Alaska for the summer and will be back in the fall. In the mean-time, Nana has picked up extra days w/ Carter, Chris's mom (Grandma) has picked up a few days and I took some time off of work. I took today off from work to stay at home w/ him. I was happy to be at home and wish I could do it every day.

It is a beautiful day 78 degrees F. We spent a few hrs garage sale-ing this morning. I found a few bargains. Carter is really into reading books, so I found some board books for nothing. I also found an adorable pair of red GAP shoes size 5. He won't get to wear them for awhile, but he'll be stylin when he does. We have a wedding this evening, Chris's cousin Stacey. So I am trying to get Carter really rested for a late night.

Carter, is a busy boy. I just realized another tooth has come through. That makes the grand total 9 teeth. He can walk almost the full length of the house. But at times he realizes that he is quicker on his knees. Carter has a lot to say, we don't understand it all, but he tries to tell us stories all day long. He is doing some more signing, dog (as I said before), bird, "all done", milk, and more. We are working on several more, he seems to pick them up very quickly these days. Carter is a dancer and any time he hears music he starts to bounce, no matter where he is. It just tickles me.

Things are great in Michigan. Only 3 weeks until vacation and we can hardly wait.

Appointment with the ALLERGIST!

Today we had Carter's One year Dr's check-up. All went well, but I did bring this picture of Carter. Hopefully you can see why. This is what happens after Carter has anything w/ eggs in it (that I physically put in). This happened w/ a lasagna containing cottage cheese and egg in the middle, then with french toast, then with a quiche thing I made. We finally nailed it down to eggs. It goes away after taking a warm bath and washing him well, but the Dr was very concerned.

Sowe have an appt w/ an allergist because the hives are around his mouth and eyes, the Dr was worried about his airway closing off. So NO EGGS until we figure this out. He didn't get an MMR today because it contains egg, thank goodness we didn't do that. I will keep you updated on the EGGS! I am hoping it is nothing because I don't want to worry about food allergies and his safety, I worry enough as it is.

Our Baby is Growing Up - Carter is ONE!

On June 7th at 9:32pm 2007 Carter Jameson Edwards was born weighing in at 6lbs 7 oz. and 20" long. Now One year later. . .19lbs 7 oz. and 28 3/4" long. Our little "peanut" is growing up. We threw a birthday party on Saturday June 7th and everyone came. It was a sports theme and everyone wore their fav team. Carter loved his cake as mom (the dietitian) avoids letting him have sweets and junk as much as possible. (while I still can) Take a look at how our little guy has grown.

I made Carter his birthday shirt...in the middle is the Michigan State University Mascott "Sparty' In place of Sparty's face I put Carter's.

Time has done by so quickly. I am amazed how much he has grown. Chris and I were looking at Carter's newborn pictures, we cannot believe how much he has grown physically and mentally. He has his own personality and is very entertaining. He keeps us laughing on a regular basis. Here are some things he is doing:

-Takes about 10-12 steps on his own - -almost got the walking things down

-climbs on top of anything he can (boxes, his wagon, bouncy seat, couch,laundry basket)

-loves to be outside, and laughs when you walk out the door and cries if you come back in

-still growling

-saying everything but nothing at the same time, trying to put sounds together

-is signing DOG, we are working on others but has really figured out how to do DOG on his own

-dances whenever and wherever he hears music especially grocery shopping

-loves to give kisses to everyone even if they are OPEN mouth

-wiggles his tongue in and out like a lizard

- lastly HE GETS INTO EVERYTHING!

We are having so much fun with him and feel blessed he is in our lives. Happy Birthday Carter!
